The Shimano Aerlex 6000 & 8000 surf reels feature AR-C Spool Management System, Aerowrap ll, Super Stopper ll and 2 speed oscillation for balanced line lay to maximise casting distance.

The line lay is varied by the oscillation speed of the rotor and bail arm and ensures the line can peel off the spool easily when cast. Additional benefits form this include the ability to use lighter sinkers or lures and of course thinner line that due to the varied line lay will not embed itself when hooked up and under pressure and also accepts less wind, water and wave pressure.

The gear ratio is 4.6:1 and the retrieve per handle crank is 99cm and spool is made with the sensational Shimano CF process meaning it is a cold forged aluminium spool and the aluminium is still in its original state.
